38,319 teacher posts have been sanctioned since 2001-02 to 2011-12 under SSA. As per the norms of SSA, State  Government has to recruit teachers by sanctioning new posts to the existing cadre strength. Out of 38,319 teacher posts, Government have sanctioned and recruited only 27402 teachers vide G.O.Ms.No.50 Edn dt:15.05.2002 and G.O.Ms.No.363 Fin dt:10.11.2008. Hence there is a balance of 10,917 posts to be sanctioned and recruited by State Government. The SPD has therefore requested the Government to take necessary action to sanction and recruitment of 10,917 teacher posts available under SSA
The Commissioner & Director of School Education,AP, Hyderabad has reported that Government permitted  recruitment of 12,772 SGTs, 2074 Language Pandits and 6077 School Assistants through
District Selection Committees, 2012 (DSC-2012). All the 10,917 posts allotted shall be deployed in the Primary and UP schools.
