Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Excise Constable / Lady Excise Constable.
NAME OF THE POSTS AND PAY SCALE:-
Excise Constable / Lady Excise Constable in the pay scale of Rs. 5,400-25,200/- (Pay Band-2) with Grade Pay Rs. 2,600/-, plus other admissible allowances.
NUMBER OF VACANCIES:-1,267
There will be reservation for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, Ex-serviceman and Exempted Category as per orders issued by the Government of West Bengal from time to time. Age concession will be granted for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-serviceman and Exempted Category candidates as per Govt. order. The concession is admissible to SC, ST and OBC candidates of West Bengal only.

Age:-The candidates must not be less than 18 years and not more than 27 years of age as on 01.01.2013
Educational Qualification:-The candidates must have passed Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or equivalent examination under any Board recognized by the State Government or the Central Government.
Selection Procedure: Eligible candidates will be called for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) before the Range Recruitment Board. Those who qualify in PMT and PET will be asked to appear in Written Examination. The Written Examination will be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
Syllabus: The Written Examination will have objective type questions (MCQ) on General Awareness and General Knowledge, English, Elementary Mathematics and Reasoning. The candidates will have to fill up the correct blank spaces against a question number on the machine readable OMR answer sheet.
How to Apply: The prescribed application form with detailed Information Brochurewill be available from the
office of the Superintendent of Police of all districts and the office of the Commissioner of Police of all Police Commissionerate (except Kolkata) from 24.01.2013 to 24.02.2013.
Fees: Candidates must deposit a fee of Rs. 150/-(Rupees one hundred fifty only) in the form of A/C Payee Demand Draft from any Nationalized Bank / IPO purchased in favour of “West Bengal Police Recruitment Board” payable at Kolkata. No application will be considered unless accompanied with the requisite application fees. No fee will be charged from candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe category and candidates from Exempted Category of West Bengal only.
